Birdwatching in Molveno

A chirpy awakening

Hotel Lido Molveno is surrounded by an ever-living and active nature, all to be observed.

The alarm clock is sometimes unnecessary: your little bird friends will make sure you open your eyes at the right time. The ballerina is the first to wake up and immediately starts chirping, followed shortly after by the shy titmice.

Open the windows to let in the cool, crisp air and it’s all a flutter of wings, chasing each other in the sky and squabbling to get to the little houses with food prepared for them in the garden first. For our little birds (we like to think they are also fond of the hotel) all the sky is home and their freedom is infinite, despite this they come to visit us every day to give us a little of their joy.

The symphony of a spring day on Lake Molveno

Do we compete to recognize ballerinas, goldfinches, titmice, robins and the like? We will give you hints to recognize the different species.

The ballerina loves to walk on the lawn, has long legs and an endless black and white tail. The titmouse is tiny, with a turquoise head and is the acrobat of the sky. The red-faced goldfinch is not afraid of anything, not even us, and will approach without any fear, especially if you will have a piece of bread in your hand. Finches, on the other hand, move only in groups and are the sky graders. Finally, there are the groi (crows, in our dialect) who rule the sky discreetly and are the best bread thieves in the country. Finally, but a rarity, is the very shy robin…meeting him is a real fluke but recognizing him is easy: red breast and melodious song!
